So whether it's standard pads or predator pads that you are after, have a browse of our online store to find the right product for your exact vehicle.
Brake pads are an essential part of any vehicle's braking system and, without them, your car would not be able to halt or slow down effectively - meaning it would not be roadworthy. Brake pads that are wearing down will impact the performance of your vehicle, and you will likely be able to feel when they start to become less effective. They work when the brakes of your car are applied; the caliper squeezes the two pads on each wheel together against the spinning rotor. This slows or stops the motion of the wheel. If you feel your vehicle is not responding well to braking, it could be time to change your pads.
At Black Diamond, all of our brake pads are of the highest possible standard. Each pad has been made to meet the manufacturers' requirements to provide you with the highest performance and safest drive possible. Nissan’s story began in 1911 when Masujiro Hashimoto started the Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works. In 1914, the company produced its first car, the DAT (an acronym of the company’s investor’s family names). In 1918, it was renamed to Kwaishinsha Motorcar Company before rebranding again to DAT Jidosha & Co.
In 1925, the company changed names yet again to DAT Motorcar Co. and by 1930 had started manufacturing the Datson (the son of DAT). However, the word ‘Son’ in Japanese also means ‘loss’, so the Datson was replaced by ‘Datsun’ before the DAT Motorcar Co joined forces with Tobata Casting in 1931.
By 1934, Tobata Casting owner Yoshisuke Aikawa had grown its car parts division and called this new section the Nissan Motor Co Ltd: Nissan.
By 1987, Nissan’s most infamous vehicle, the Cedric Model Y31 was marketed, leading to the brand winning the global ‘Car of the Year’ award. The company then grew rapidly with the introduction of numerous successes, including the Maxima Model J30, Silvia Model S13, Cedric Cima Model FY31, Prairie Model M11, Safari Model Y60 and Celfiro Model A31.
Near the end of the 90s, the phenomenally successful Silvia Model S15 and Skyline GT-R Model R34 had also hit the market. Nissan also ventured into building low-emission mini vehicles and introduced the ultra-small EV Hypermini in California. It also entered the European minicar market with its incredibly popular Micra.
The Nissan Leaf came to market in 2010 and is a mid-size yet spacious hatchback electric car with a range of 172 km (107 miles) on a full 30 kWh battery charge or 135 km (84 miles) with the smaller 24 kWh battery. With convenient green efficiency at the forefront of its design, a Leaf battery pack can be charged from flat to 80% capacity in about half an hour using DC fast charging.
Over 300,000 Nissan Leafs have been sold up to January 2018, making it the all-time best-selling highway-going electric car ever.
