Brake pads are an essential part of any vehicle's braking system and, without them, your car would not be able to halt or slow down effectively - meaning it would not be roadworthy. Brake pads that are wearing down will impact the performance of your vehicle, and you will likely be able to feel when they start to become less effective. They work when the brakes of your car are applied; the caliper squeezes the two pads on each wheel together against the spinning rotor. This slows or stops the motion of the wheel. If you feel your vehicle is not responding well to braking, it could be time to change your pads.
At Black Diamond, all of our brake pads are of the highest possible standard. Each pad has been made to meet the manufacturers' requirements to provide you with the highest performance and safest drive possible. Lotus is a prestige British vehicle manufacturer that designs and builds luxury sports and racing cars from its base in Hethel, UK. Lotus cars include the Elise, Elan, Esprit, Europa, Evora and Exige sports models and the brand has enjoyed motor sporting success with Team Lotus in Formula 1.
The most popular three models of Lotus cars over the 21st century have been the Elise, the Exige and the Evora.
Unveiled in 1996 the iconic Lotus Elise initially had a Toyota engine to adhere to strict US emissions laws. However the 1ZZ and 2ZZ had Toyota engines and a Lotus ECU with their own fuel mapping, and the following supercharged Lotus Elise S reached naught to sixty in 4.3 seconds. The Elise evolved into its third generation in 2012 when it saw more power being added and more newer variants such as the Elise Cup 250.
The coupé version of the Elise, the Exige, appeared in the year 2000. Today the Exige has a range of variants from the 375 PS Sport 350 to the 430 PS Cup 430.
Finally the Evora came along in July 2008 as a 2+2 sports car with a mid-mounted, transverse 3.5-litre V6 engine. Built from an incredibly lightweight bonded aluminium frame with composite body panels, it contains a forged aluminium double wishbone suspension. It also boasts Eibach coaxial coil springs and superb performance Bilstein gas dampers. The next Evora model Lotus released was the Evora S in 2011, followed six years later by an even more powerful variant, the Evora GT430 in 2017.
The Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid is the brand’s principle plug-in hybrid. Its cutting-edge electronic technology enhances driver involvement, and offers a striking new roof system and super slick modern interior design.
Lotus models have evolved rapidly over the years and hunting around for spare parts is likely to be costly and time-consuming.
